@ASCAtweets is the organization providing the national model for school counselors across America. American School Counselor Association (ASCA) position statement:
“School counselors work toward cultural competence and engage in anti-racist actions by advocating to change racist policies, procedures, practices, guidelines and laws contributing to inequities in students’ academic, career and social/emotional development.”
(ASCA) Rationale - “The US education system contributes to maintaining systems of oppression through racist policies, practices and guidelines that negatively affect all students but especially students from racially diverse backgrounds, including Black and Indigenous students, who historically have been distinctly affected by white supremacy in the United States. By supporting anti-racist policies through their actions and expressed anti-racist ideas, school counselors embrace their roles as social justice advocates and change agents who examine and dismantle systems of oppression (Kendi, 2019).
The ASCA Ethical Standards call for school counselors to be systemic change agents who embrace their roles as advocates, leaders and collaborators by providing equitable educational access and success.
All educators, especially school counselors, have an obligation to work toward mitigating and/or ending racism and bias (ASCA, 2020) in an effort to lessen the impact of systemic racism on student development."

awareness, knowledge and skills to be an effective, culturally competent school counselor.
@ASCAtweets rationale states "school counselors need to continue to enhance knowledge and awareness of prejudice, power and various forms of oppression and utilize culturally responsive skills to support ever-changing student needs. It is an “expectation, not the exception” for school counselors to integrate multiculturalism and social justice perspectives into their work as advocates and leaders."
Parents are realizing education is no longer about academic excellence but it is also vital they also understand the services children receive at school are pushing an agenda. Don't let your kids be political pawns. Tell the school to keep the counselors away from your child!

American School Counseling Association @ASCAtweets states ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors Confidentiality states, “(Counselors) Are aware that even though attempts are made to obtain informed consent, it is not always possible. When needed, school counselors make counseling decisions on students’ behalf that promote students’ welfare.”
This undermining of parental rights is why schools across America are allowing kids to assume new identities & hiding it from the parents.
I personally know of a situation where the school counselor met with teachers and instructed them to allow a child to assume a new gender but when they speak with the parents to use the child’s legal name & gender. Opt-Out of school counseling services! #NSCW22 #ExposeASCA #ExpelSEL

ASCA’s position statement for "The School Counselor and Transgender/Gender-nonconforming Youth" states, "Transgender and gender-nonconforming students have the right to decide when, with whom and to what extent to share private information.
When contacting the parent/guardian of a transgender or gender-nonconforming student, school staff should use the student’s legal name and the pronoun corresponding to the student’s assigned sex at birth, unless the student or parent/guardian has specified otherwise."
This practice allows counselors to undermine parents and at the request of the child, hide the information from the parents.
ASCA’s states " Students should be allowed to use the restroom in accordance with their gender identity." School staff should address students by their chosen name and pronouns that correspond to their gender identity, regardless of whether there has been a legal name change."
"Students should not be required to use a locker room that is incongruent with their gender identity. Locker-room usage should be determined using the guiding principles of safety and honoring the student’s gender identity and expression." #ExpelSEL

American School Counseling Association @ASCAtweets provides the national counseling model used in K-12. In their 9/21 Current Issues in Education - Critical Race Theory Issue they state, "Systemic racism, oppression and white privilege are
real. Both our nation’s history and current events are rife with examples to support this reality. The impact of racial disparity in education continues to be a crucial conversation as educators and other stakeholders address the painful truth that all groups of students in the United States have not achieved outcomes at the same level." It says school counselors will "Collaborate with teachers and other school staff, parents, administrators and community stakeholders to create systemic change, including addressing underlying systemic issues and advocating to change policies and procedures that create inequitable student outcomes."
ASCA requires that "School counselors, and all educators, have an obligation to end racism and bias. They must examine their own biases, enhance awareness of the impact of racism and bias, and demonstrate culturally sustaining skills to combat racism. School counselors have the power to lead by example, advocate for change and collaborate with
others to ensure equitable success."
ASCA argues CRT isn't used in K-12 but they clearly state the training and advocacy of the counselors is based on the theory. Education has transformed around CRT/Cultural Marxism & your children are being serviced by people who are anti-American & working to dismantle freedom. #ExpelSEL #ExposeASCA

What used to be called a “guidance counselor” is now called “school counselor” because they are supposed to service EVERY child (in some way) in the school. That can be through specific individualized sessions, class lessons &/or transformation of the school culture.
Why should you care? School Counselors are trained to be (according to ASCA) SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCATES & influence your children to be the same. @learnforjustice “Social Justice Standards” are referenced as a primary resource which informed ASCAs student standards. Learning for Justice is a website from the Southern Poverty Law Center which provides standards and resources for administrators, teachers & counselors. This is highly inappropriate & blatant political indoctrination by our government.
Parents, you must stand up to this! They are training this generation of children to become anti-American, social justice warriors. Tell your school your child is NOT to be serviced by any counselor at school.

ASCA's Post-verdict Resources for School Counselors stated "Talk about how racism shows itself. How does a person of color define racism? How does a white person define racism? What advantages or disadvantages do I have?" & "Consider setting up a safe room (virtual or otherwise) or an open drop-in conversation for students. This can create an opportunity for student learning, increasing awareness and connecting racism to their moral compass."
