CRT is CRT and CRT is SEL
2021 will go down as the year America realized critical race theory (CRT) had graduated from a radical anti-American concept to the philosophy transforming our K-12 education system. There is no shortage of arguments against the ideology with experts like Christopher Rufo and James Lindsay leading the charge. From coast to coast you will find plenty of people speaking out against the ideas that racism is a central component of American life and our children should not be taught to believe that it is. However, educating America to know the ideology is only step one. If people want to stop the indoctrination, they must understand how it is being executed.
If you go to your school district and demand to know why they are teaching CRT, they will tell you it isn’t being taught. The problem with this type of questioning is it opens the door for deception. With the exception of a few school districts, schools are not teaching your children what CRT is, instead schools have transformed based on the theory causing coercion through propaganda. The key to attacking this is dismantling Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
SEL uses Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). Culturally Responsive Teaching was coined by critical race theorist, Gloria Ladson-Billings. Ladson-Billings states “beyond individual characteristics of academic achievement and cultural competence, students must develop a broader sociopolitical consciousness that allows them to critique the cultural norms, values, mores, and institutions that produce and maintain social inequalities.” Culturally Responsive Teaching has transitioned our country by teaching children in K-12 through the viewpoint of a critical race theorist. Critical race theorists believe all of our systems are racist/oppressive and they use CRT (Culturally Responsive Teaching) to indoctrinate all of the children to believe the same thing. The progressives pushing and supporting this agenda realized in order to manipulate an entire generation they would have to exploit a child’s feelings and innocence so they disguised their intentions (as they always do) behind nice words, Social Emotional Learning.
This battle will rage on for the minds and hearts of our children. I hope 2022 will be the year Americans understand Critical Race Theory (CRT) is Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and Culturally Responsive Teaching is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). We cannot win this war by simply knowing the enemy; we must understand it’s infiltration .
