The next Trojan horse of SEL: Employability Skills

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is beginning to align with the workforce under the guise of "Employability Skills", "Workability Competencies" or "Workforce Skills". SEL, being sold as "essential life skills", becomes an even bigger problem when these skills are mandated for graduation, which will be a requirement soon. SEL competencies are not about employable skills they are about employable compliance. If students fully adopt the woke groupthink, CRT ideology they will be praised and labeled "employable". If students graduate with a low SEL score, their future will be dependent on learning to conform to the new social norms created by the radical transformation we are witnessing today.

CASEL, the giant behind SEL, says on the State SEL and Workforce Initiative, "Together SEL and career and workforce development can strengthen one another by finding ways to align and integrate practices through an equity lens to more intentionally promote the competencies and environments youth need to thrive in school as they prepare for the workforce. Developing social and emotional skills within equitable learning environments are particularly important now as we work to identify and elevate strong policies to address inequities in youth employment and engage in economic revival."

The SEL agenda is bigger than most can imagine. Focusing only on Critical Race Theory (CRT) in schools means we are only talking about the ideology, if you want to go after the source, you must take on SEL. Parents, legislators, school board members, and business owners must recognize the latest Trojan horse that will come in under Social Emotional Learning.
